Black Adder ftp Instructions

An area of the Black Adders website has been set up for you to upload graphics files so that you can add them to your forum posts.

Things to remember:

Jpegs Please!
This is the smallest graphics format.
Smaller is better
480x320 is the largest you should ever need for a map, screenshot or other large image.  Most others can be significantly smaller and still get your point across.
Squadron Related Pictures Only Please
Apply a liberal interpretation.  Certainly pictures of your kids, your muscle car, your tractor, etc. are acceptable.  Just don't turn into the next Austin Powers.

You can use your favorite ftp program to upload your graphic files.  You need the following information:

ftp Server Name:   baonly.blackadders.com
ftp Account Name:   baonly
ftp Account Password:   password*
 

(Always lower case)

* The password is always the same password that is used to access the "BA Private" section of the website.

Once you are in the ftp section, if this is your first visit, create your own folder using your pilot name.  Upload files only into your own folder.  Move or delete any files accidentally loaded into the wrong area.  Please remember that the entire ftp area is accessible to the whole squadron, including the separate folders.

To link to your picture in a forum, do the following:

Assume your picture file name is MyPic.jpg and that it is in your MyPilotName folder in the ftp area.  When in the Black Adder forum message editor, add the following line:

[image]http://www.blackadders.com/baonly/MyPilotName/MyPic.jpg[/image]

That will put your picture in your message when it posts.
